To get to the billabong, you’ll need to take a long drive through the rough roads on Nusa Penida. You’ll want to make sure you have a driver that knows the roads well, as they’re very bumpy and narrow in some places. It’s also a good idea to bring a pillow and anti-nausea medicine in case you’re not a confident rider.
Broken Beach
Broken Beach, also known as Pasih Uug, is one of the most incredible sights you will see on Nusa Penida. It is a gorgeous cove with a natural arch that allows water to flow in and out of the sea. It is a must-see for any nature lover.
This spot is located on the west side of the island and can be visited by renting a scooter. However, the roads on Nusa Penida are rocky and dangerous to drive on, so we recommend booking a tour with a driver so you can visit multiple locations safely.

Rumah Pohon Tree Houses
The Instagram-famous tree houses at Rumah Pohon overlook Diamond Beach and have become a must-see attraction on Nusa Penida. The cliff-side treehouses can be visited as part of a day trip to east Nusa Penida, which includes visiting Goa Giri Putri Cave and spending time on pristine beaches. It’s also possible to stay overnight in one of the tree houses, although you need to book far in advance.
The best way to get to Rumah Pohon is to join a group tour that will visit it as part of a larger itinerary. Most tours focus on the west side of Nusa Penida, including spots like Kelingking Beach and Angel’s Billabong. However, a few of the better-quality tours will include the Rumah Pohon tree house as well.
It’s important to bring water or drinks with you when heading to Rumah Pohon as it’s a hot and humid area. In addition, you’ll be walking down a lot of stairs. The view from the top is absolutely spectacular though! Don’t forget your camera! Then, be sure to follow the rules when taking photos.
Teletubbies Hill
Bukit Teletubbies Hill, or simply Teletubbies Hills, is an epic viewpoint in Nusa Penida that overlooks rolling green hills. The hills are named for their resemblance to the children’s TV show, and they are popular for photography, hiking, and relaxation.
The hills are located on the southeast side of the island and can be reached by a steep hike or scooter ride. The best time to visit is between December and April, when the hills are green and lush. During the dry season, the hills are brown but still stunning.
